Aw but I liked doing the /favor command every now and seeing big numbers. I don't think I checked before going to bed, last thing I remember was 28k or so.

As mentioned earlier, sometimes computers cannot hold very large numbers unless they're specifically told to. This computer was told 'take the number of milliseconds of favor, and put it in a 31-bit integer'. 31-bit integer is technical speak for a number 2147483648. Take that number, divide it by 1000 for seconds, divide it by 60 for minutes, and that's the maximum number of minutes that can be stored.

God damn, and there I was without a rush to go to the UW thinking we had almost a damn month worth of favor.
That aside, I believe that Anet had to know that the entire GW community was going to max those 2 titles, that is 6 mins a pop!!!
I do believe it had to be on purpose, after all, they cannot have the UW open 24/7 for a month!!

Next time they should make a free UW/FoW week again. It's kind of a ripoff, since we weren't told that someone will reset favor at some point -.-

"someone" didn't reset it... the bucket used to store the number of minutes of favor "overflowed" because the computer incremented the value past the amount allowed in the bucket. Thus resetting or losing the "real" value of favor.

I'd also say that is what happened. It's a common practice to store time as milliseconds and they have used a signed int32.
If anyone can post a screenie with time over 35791, we will have to find a better theory But it's highly unlikely that they would manually reset the time just at int32 upper bound.

ah, so its 32bit int and miliseconds instead of 16bit int and minutes, that makes a lot more sense actually.
Heh, funny thing is fix for this "bug" takes few seconds (literaly) while it undid 7000 title donations of players which probably took them about hundred thoudand hours of collective playtime.)

Anet should give us back all the favor time we EARNED. They should have realized the consequences of a weekend such as this and prepared accordingly.
Also, anet wanted to change the favor system to the retarded title-pve based way it is now, they should live with the fact that it was NOT A GOOD IDEA. Give us back the month of favor we earned imo, and since QQ'ing seems to work now, i WILL NOT let this injustice rest until favor is linked to HA again or we get back our 25+ days of favor!

Who cares? It's already back at 7k. Besides, did you really need the ability to farm UW/FoW 24/7 for a month?
